Praise for Ebuka Njoku’s Yahoo+

You do not need a budget of 100 million or Osas as a lead actress to make a good movie. This film stands out as a beacon for all aspiring directors and producers, this is how you start. Submit your piece to a film festival, (Eastern Nigeria International Film Festival, ENIFF), source for distributors, ask, get turned down, and ask again till you get One to believe in your Film. Have an okay run in the cinemas and then release to Netflix to reach a supposedly wider audience. To review this movie, one must bear in mind that this narrative film is the first feature of a director working on a budget. There remains a lot of room for improvement, and I will be overtly generous to score this 3.8/10.

Nollywood meets Bollywood, we have the best of both worlds. This movie is the best storytelling I have seen in a long time, fusing both Indian and Nigerian values, while also creating awareness on violence against women. It is really mind blowing. YOU WISH! Ha-ha, THIS MOVIE SUCKS, THEN BLOWS THEN SUCKS AGAIN. Continue reading

This MOVIE was totally UNBELIEVABLE, I mean that quite literally. It was a 100 percent UNBELIEVABLE. Not unbelievably good, just plain UNBELIEVABLE. See? If you read the word Unbelievable one more time eh. This is exactly what the movie gave us, an over flogged rhetoric mess. This movie should have been named PLOT TWIST, all the writers really wanted to do was twist the plot, over and over and over again till you remember that the entire movie is a lie. Niyi Akinmolayan and Inkblot productions must accept responsibility for this. Continue reading

Allow me introduce the BEST WORST NOLLYWOOD MOVIE of 2018. Knockout Blessing is so bad the entire crew and cast should be applauded for making it through the movie. Someone actually paid for its publicity? I paid two thousand naira to watch this, money so not well spent, I could liken it to paying a 30,000 gate fee to watch Terry G and African China perform. I have no clue where to start from, I wish I can un-see this retina-neuronic poison.

First, I had the distinguished honor of being the only one in the movie theater (Genesis Deluxe cinema) 10 minutes before the movie started. Continue reading

A year ago (actually last week), first thing that popped into my head at the mention of Lion heart was Jean Claude Van Damme’s signature Last fight winning kick. Right now it is safe to say that there is only one LION HEART, Genevieve Nnaji’s OBIAGU…

LION HEART—BRAVE HEART, One thing in common: DIRECTOR EXCELLENCE; Mel Gibson = Genevieve Nnaji Continue reading
