Nigeria our father land,

Forced to become one by The Lord,

You let your fight for “ones” destroy all,

United you said you stand,

Divided you fall instead.

Oh Nigeria, gifted so many blessings,

Numerous natural and unnatural resources,

VIP status in the heavenly quarters,

Exempted from severe natural disasters.

Remember your motto,

Unity, Peace and Progress,

United or just entwined?

At peace or in pieces?

Progress or retrogress?

9ja, good people, great nation,

I’d say how the mighty have fallen,

But were you ever mighty?

I’d say rise from your slumber,

Were you ever awake?

The Y bounded shape on Africa’s map,

It’s not Nigeria,

It’s not our country,

We are Nigeria, we are the country,

Let’s join hands,

North and south,

Let’s make Papa smile!
