I saw Love, Lust, and Other Things, so you won’t have to

By: Cassy

Spoiler Alert! There are a lot of spoilers in this review.

I expected a K-drama-type romance and love story, but there were no punchlines, no highs, no plot twists, no awww-mushy moments, and very bad acting from everyone.

The basic storyline is wonky and boring. The story is about an Abuja real estate agent, Lydia, played by Osas, who separates from her husband because he is a controlling man. Continue reading

The House of Secrets Review

I try my best to be generous BUT if I do not hold Nollywood accountable, who will? I really loved the trailer, was hooked and it made me pen this down for review (I like to think I only review art or attempts at art; I cannot watch or review everything). I was greatly looking forward to it. For all its promise, I would have to score this 5.5/10. Insensitive to the effort put into the story, camera, lighting, and noir theme. Hopefully, I can justify this unfair judgement. Let us use the feedback sandwich for this one:

“Can you make a sequel better than the original?” Lady Kemi answered, “Hell Yeah.” She delivered a masterpiece that has rightly been getting praise from all quarters since its release (save for a few bad belle, in fact, everybody does not like pawpaw). NazRev would score this National Treasure 9.9/10. The Return of the King rocks for the following reasons:

…Ogbuide Express…

THE FUTURE; 2035: A World Without Transportation.”

Aerial shots of the earth reveal the ozone layer is perfectly healed, the vegetation is evergreen, and the ice glaciers are perfectly shaped. The roads are empty; all that’s left at sea are ruins of sea vessels. Dolphins and whales are everywhere. There are no trains, no airplanes, the railway tracks are rusty and the skyline is clear. The earth is in perfect condition.

Little Richard stares out the window of his room at the sky filled with birds then he lets his eyes focus on the front entrance of his family home. His unblinking eye watches a man materialize from thin air, drop off a box with a Jumia label, and vanish.

“Mom! Delivery’s here.” He says as he walks calmly away from the window.

I stalled on writing this review because I couldn’t figure how to write it without dropping spoilers. La Femme Anjola is an entertaining movie with interesting characters. A lot about the movie was top notch, the extraordinary performance by the lady called Dominic, the shooting scene with the delightful watermelons and the free ad of Amala extra. Uncle Femi Jacob as usual added onscreen seasoning and Nonso Bassey did great as the male lead. The story was super and without blemish up until a point and the screen cacophony that followed after ensures this movie scores 3.5/10 on NazRev.

I needed this story so bad. Now my hope for Nigeria is flirting with zero, I needed a reminder of who and what I am- a Patriot. I am human and Nigerian before anything else. Right after this movie, I said the Nigerian Pledge and I meant it. This movie scores 9.5/10 on Nazrev’s books. It is a great, well thought out story. There were so many amazing themes on show: Continue reading

Most Nigerians would so love to use this line right now eh. “Dear Uncle, I am Coming 2 America” or is it “Dear Sir, I am going 2 America, accept my resignation.”

Nazrev reviews Nollywood movies and Nollywood movies ONLY. However since they decided to cast OBO (shameless marketing, we love to see the world grovel for our market value now) and flaunt our Green & White colours; I have claimed this as a Nollywood movie.

Nollywood meets Bollywood, we have the best of both worlds. This movie is the best storytelling I have seen in a long time, fusing both Indian and Nigerian values, while also creating awareness on violence against women. It is really mind blowing. YOU WISH! Ha-ha, THIS MOVIE SUCKS, THEN BLOWS THEN SUCKS AGAIN. Continue reading

After the high of Living In Bondage: Breaking Free (A SEQUEL; Link for review); Play Network’s Rattle Snake story became one of the most anticipated movies of 2020. Living In Bondage was 10/10, this one fell short, scoring 4/10 on our critic scoreboard. Let me take you through the Good, the Bad and the Ugly of 2020’s Rattle Snake: The Ahanna Story. The most important thing to note is: THIS IS A REMAKE and like all GOOD remakes before it, it is BAD.
